How to play
- Type a five-letter word and press Enter. It is placed on both boards at once.
- Each board colors your guess against its own hidden word: green for the right spot,
yellow for the wrong spot, gray for not in the word.
- A board is solved when one of your guesses is its word. Solve both within 7 guesses.
The counter above the boards shows guesses used and boards solved.
The math of 7 guesses
You need at least 2 guesses, one exact word per board, just to finish. That leaves five guesses for everything else: openers, guesses that test letters, and mistakes. In practice this means your first guess has to do double duty, and every guess after your opening phase should solve a board rather than scout one.
Two boards is the smallest step up from a single word: enough overlap to plan around, without the bigger boards' longer lists to track.
A plan that works
Open with two words that share no letters. Between them they test close to half the alphabet, so after your first guess both boards usually already show some colored tiles.
Solve the easier board first. One board almost always narrows down faster than the other. Clear it, then give the harder board your full attention and every remaining guess.
Let one board's guesses help the other. Every word you type toward one board is also a free clue on the board still in play, even after the first is solved and stops changing.
Watch for a shared letter in the wrong place. With only two boards it is common for a letter that is green on one to be yellow or gray on the other. Track each board's own colors, not a merged view.
Keep a spare guess for the end. The harder of the two boards is usually the one with a double letter or a rare letter. Try not to reach it with no guesses left.
Not the same site as Dordle
If you found this page while searching for a two-board word game, you may already know the idea from Dordle, a well known two-board word game elsewhere on the web. Tile Streak is not Dordle and is not affiliated with it. What you get here is our own two-board puzzle: a different daily word pair, our own archive, and the same one-keyboard, solve-both-boards idea, played on our own word lists.
Where this fits
If a single word usually takes you three or four guesses, 2 boards is a gentle next step. It runs a little longer than the daily five-letter game, and it teaches the habit that bigger board counts need: choosing a guess that pays off on more than one board at a time.
Some players play 2 boards once and move on for the day. Others treat it as a short warm up before a bigger board count. Either way works, since solving any one daily, on any game, is what keeps your all-games streak going.
Want to warm up first? The five-letter daily is the same word length on one board. 3 boards or 4 boards are here once two starts to feel easy, and the NFL guessing game is a different daily if you want a break from letters.
Daily and unlimited
The Daily 2-board puzzle is the same pair of words for everyone today and counts toward your all-games streak. Unlimited deals a fresh pair of words whenever you want one. Your share result shows how many guesses you used and how many boards you solved, without a single letter, so a result is safe to send to anyone still playing.
