What we make
Tile Streak is a small collection of daily guessing games. You find something hidden, a word or a player, and every guess tells you how close you are. Each game has one daily puzzle that is the same for everyone, and an unlimited mode for when one is not enough.
What we care about
Starting in one tap. No sign-up, no app, no tutorial to sit through. The board is the first thing on the page.
Fair puzzles. Daily answers are common words people actually know, or current players on real rosters. Once a daily puzzle is published it never changes, so everyone who played it played the same game.
Never spoiling. Share results are colors only. Unlimited mode never uses an upcoming daily word. Our guides never use a daily answer as an example.
One streak. Solve any daily puzzle on a given day and your all-games streak keeps going.
Playable by everyone. Keyboard play, screen reader labels on every tile, and a high-contrast color option for players who find green and yellow hard to tell apart.
How the site is paid for
The games are free and supported by ads. Ads are never placed between the board and the keyboard, and on the kids game they are kept away from the game and requested as non-personalized. See privacy for how ads and consent work.
Word lists and data
Our English word lists are built from SCOWL (Kevin Atkinson) and wordfreq (Robyn Speer), then curated by hand for daily answers. NFL player data comes from nflverse under the CC BY 4.0 license. Themed guessing games draw from public datasets and are credited on each of those pages, with text-only clues built from the columns each dataset actually has.
How a puzzle is chosen
Every daily comes from an append-only schedule, so the word or player for a given date is fixed well before anyone plays it and never changes after the fact. That is what makes a daily fair to share: whoever plays it on a given day, whenever in that day they get to it, is looking at the exact same puzzle. Unlimited modes pull from the same lists but skip anything already queued as an upcoming daily, so playing for practice can never spoil a puzzle that has not run yet.
How the streak works
Progress and streaks live on the device you are playing on, not on a server, so there is no account to lose access to. Solving any daily on a given day keeps the one all-games streak going, regardless of which game you solved. Miss a day and a streak freeze, when you have one in hand, covers it automatically. Freezes are earned by playing, never bought.
