TTile Streak

How to play

  1. Start a duel and send the challenge link to a friend.
  2. Both of you guess the same hidden word, six guesses each, on your own device and your own

time.

  1. Read the tiles the usual way: green for right letter and spot, yellow for right letter

wrong spot, gray for not in the word.

  1. Whoever solves it in fewer guesses wins. A tie in guesses goes to whichever of you

finished faster.

The result is compared through the reply link, so neither of you needs an account and nothing is stored on a server.

Why a duel plays differently

A daily puzzle is something you play against the puzzle. A duel is something you play against a person, using the exact same puzzle. That changes what a good guess looks like. In a solo game, the only thing that matters is finding the word. In a duel, finishing in five guesses instead of six can be the difference between winning and losing even if both of you eventually solve it, and finishing fast on a tie matters just as much as finishing at all.

Because the challenge link carries only an id, not the word, you can send it to someone without any risk of spoiling their game, and you can accept a duel without knowing anything about the puzzle beforehand either.

Tips for winning a duel

Play your normal opener. A duel does not change what makes a good first guess. Letters that split the alphabet well are still the strongest start.

Do not slow down to be careful. Since ties go to speed, a guess you are confident about is worth making quickly rather than double-checking.

Avoid a guess that only tests letters. In a solo game, a scouting guess that cannot be the answer is sometimes worth it. In a duel, every guess that does not solve the word costs you against the clock and against your opponent's guess count.

Send the link before you play, not after. Sending the challenge without playing it yourself first keeps both results honest and means neither of you can be accused of using an extra guess's worth of thinking time.

Rematch on a fresh link. Each new duel uses its own puzzle id, so a rematch is always a new hidden word for both of you.

Agree on hard mode before you start. A duel is fairest when both players play under the same settings, so it is worth a quick message to your opponent before either of you opens the link.

No account, no server

A duel needs nothing from either player beyond the link. There is no sign-up, no chat and no stored history beyond what is kept on each device. The reply link is how results are compared, and once a duel is finished, it stays finished: neither player can replay the same challenge to improve their result.

Questions

How does the challenge link work?

It carries an id for the puzzle, not the word itself, so opening the link never spoils the answer for the person who receives it.

Do both players see the same word?

Yes. The challenge link points both of you to the same hidden word, played independently.

How many guesses do we each get?

Six each, the same as the standard word game. Whoever finds the word in fewer guesses wins.

What happens on a tie?

If you both solve it in the same number of guesses, the faster completed time wins.

Do I need an account to play?

No. There is no account and nothing is stored on a server. The result is compared through the reply link you send back.

Can I duel more than one friend at a time?

Yes. Send a fresh challenge link for each duel; each one carries its own puzzle id.
